Susie Barter is a solicitor and a mediator. Having commenced her career in the City of London, she set up her own legal practice in 2007 when she returned to Kent. Since February 2023, Susie has been Head of Family Law at West-End law firm Child & Child.
Susie grew up in East Kent and attended local schools – Sibertswold Church of England Primary School and Dover Grammar School for Girls. She read law at Bristol University and undertook a further years’ study at Guildford Law School.
Susie is married with two children, both of whom have been educated at Northbourne Park. She is a keen equestrian and shares her love of horses with her family.
Susie has served as a Governor of Northbourne Park since 2017 and was Safeguarding Governor from 2019 to 2022. She also served as a Trustee of the Tormore Trust from 2013 until September 2022, when she stepped down to take up the role of Chair of Governors at Northbourne Park.
