Many of our staff have taught at Northbourne Park for years, and bring particular expertise in languages, sport and outdoor education. This page introduces the Head Teacher, senior leadership, our governing body and the safeguarding team.
Our staff
Every member of teaching and non-teaching staff has undertaken an enhanced DBS check, in line with our commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of every child.
Class teachers, teaching assistants, Early Years practitioners and subject specialists make up the teaching team, many of whom have taught at the school for a number of years. Average class size is around 15 pupils, and with around 200 pupils across the school, staff know every child by name.
Manners and mutual respect run both ways. Pupils are expected to be polite and well-conducted, and staff know each child well enough for lessons and pastoral care to feel personal. Every member of staff is committed to upholding the school's vision, mission and values.
A number of staff are qualified to deliver the CNED programme, alongside particular strength in languages, sport and outdoor education. Specialist teachers deliver academic subjects and art, design, music and drama. Outdoor education is delivered in partnership with the skilled team at Betteshanger Park. The Learning Support team works across both the Pre-Prep and Prep sites, supporting pupils individually as needed.
