Holiday Clubs

 

Day clubs in the school holidays for children in Reception to Year 6, run by Northbourne Park staff on the school's 100-acre site near Deal, Sandwich and Dover. Northbourne Park pupils are welcome up to Year 8.

Holiday Club

Holiday Club runs for children in Reception to Year 6, and for Northbourne Park pupils up to Year 8. It is run by our own school staff.

Children spend as much of the day outdoors as the weather allows, using the school's grounds and woodland. The programme varies from club to club, but usually includes Forest School-style activities, crafts and games. Members of our Games Department often join the team to run sports sessions through the day.

Drop-off is between 8.30am and 8.45am, and pick-up is at 4.00pm. Clubs can be booked by the day, with a discounted rate for full-week bookings. The site and lunch arrangements can vary between clubs, so please check the booking page for the club you are booking.

Summer Programme

In July, Holiday Club runs alongside Exam Preparation and our English Summer Adventure Camp, a residential camp for international pupils. Children from the day clubs and the residential camp share break times, lunch and afternoon activities.

 

Holiday Club

Open to children in Reception to Year 6, and to Northbourne Park pupils up to Year 8. Children in Year 3 and above may join the Outdoor Adventure Programme in the afternoons, and their day finishes at 5.00pm. Children in Reception to Year 2 follow the usual Holiday Club day, finishing at 4.00pm.

 

Exam Preparation

For children aged 8 to 11 preparing for 11+ examinations, with a maximum of 16 places each week. Tutoring runs from 9.00am to 12.30pm. After lunch, children join the Outdoor Adventure Programme. The day runs from 8.30am to 5.00pm, and the course is booked by the week.

 

Exam Preparation is led by Alex Thompson. Alex trained and taught in London before joining Northbourne Park in 2009 as Head of Maths, and later became Deputy Head. Since 2018 Alex has specialised in tuition for 11+ examinations, scholarships and GCSE Mathematics.

 

Outdoor Adventure Programme

A timetabled afternoon programme of archery, survival skills, orienteering, fossil hunting and more, run across the school grounds and at neighbouring Betteshanger Park with specialist instructors. Places are shared with pupils from the English Summer Adventure Camp.

 

Evening activities

Children aged 8 and above can stay for optional evening activities until 8.00pm.

 

Nursery-aged children

Squirrels Nursery is open for up to 48 weeks of the year. Nursery-aged children currently enrolled at Northbourne Park's Squirrels Nursery can book extra days during the holidays, subject to availability. To arrange this, please email preprep@northbournepark.com or call 01304 611792.

 

International pupils

International children are welcome to join any of our Holiday Clubs as day pupils. A parent or guardian needs to be staying in the UK and is responsible for drop-off and pick-up each day.

 

For a residential experience, our English Summer Adventure Camp runs from Sunday 4 to Sunday 18 July 2027 for children aged 8 to 14, combining English lessons with outdoor activities and excursions.

Terms and conditions

Booking

Booking opens at the start of the school half term before each club. Opening dates are shown in Upcoming dates above. All bookings and payments are made through Trybooking. Places are allocated on a first come, first served basis. We cannot accept children who arrive on the day without a booking.

Additional needs, allergies and toilet training

Please tell us about any additional needs, allergies or dietary requirements on the booking form at the time of booking. If we are unable to meet the needs of an individual child, we reserve the right to ask parents to withdraw their child. Children must be fully toilet trained to attend Holiday Club. Northbourne Park is a nut-free school.

Collection

Children may be collected only by a parent or by an adult whose name has been given to us in advance. Please tell us about any change by email before the day. If you are running late, please call +44 (0)1304 611215.

Illness and absence

If your child is unwell and unable to attend, please let us know as soon as possible on +44 (0)1304 611215.

Cancellations and refunds

We do not usually offer refunds if a booking is cancelled by a parent. If the school cancels a club day, you will receive a full refund for that day.

Clothing

Children should wear clothing suitable for indoor and outdoor activities, and outdoor clothing and footwear suitable for the weather on the day.
