Northbourne Park School offers tailored pathways for international pupils, whether they join as boarders or day pupils.

International pupils requiring boarding will join either:

  • English System (ages 7–13, Year 3–Year 8)
  • French System (Section Française Bilingue) (ages 9–14, CM2–4e)

Day pupils may join the school from age 2.

English System

International pupils with a good level of English in Years 3 to 8 (ages 7-13) work alongside English-speaking pupils in our Prep School.

  • In Years 7 and 8, pupils follow the Common Entrance Programme.
  • Lessons include English, Maths, Science, Art/Design Technology, Computing, Music, and Drama, with Physical Education and Games featuring prominently.
  • Small classes ensure individual attention for every child.

French System (Section Française Bilingue)

The Section Française Bilingue (SFB) offers specialised CM2, 6e, 5e, and 4e classes.

  • Pupils follow the CNED programme, with assessments in Maths, French, and History-Geography-EMC.
  • At the end of the year, pupils sit an examination assessed by the Lycée Français de Londres.
  • In addition to French curriculum studies, pupils join English system peers for Music, Art, Games, and Outdoor Education lessons.

Advanced Programme

For highly motivated pupils with strong academic ability and English skills:

  • Combines English curriculum Year 8, CNED, and Cambridge English Exam courses.
  • Prepares pupils for scholarships and bilingual academic success.

English Immersion

All international pupils study English as a second language, taking Cambridge English Exams (KET, PET, FCE) covering reading, writing, speaking, and listening.

  • After-school clubs and events provide extra opportunities to practise English.
  • Private English tuition is available for one-to-one support.
