Mathew Doran

Mat attended NPS where he gained a scholarship to Eton College, before reading Modern Languages (French and Spanish) at New College, Oxford. Interspersed with living, studying and working abroad in Senegal, Spain, Cuba and Brazil, he embarked on a career in UK education, teaching at University College School (London), Eton College and Dulwich College, fulfilling a number of roles in addition to the classroom, including Head of French, Head of Portuguese, Deputy Housemaster, Specialist Tutor and Polo Manager. He ran various innovative trips while teaching at Eton, including the UK’s first ever French Language and Culture School Trip to Senegal, and the UK’s first ever schools Polo Trip to Morocco.

Mat now runs his own education company, MGD Education Limited, providing bespoke educational support to UK and foreign students at all stages of their educational journey. As a student at NPS, Mat particularly valued the quality of the teaching and learning, the talent and genuine care of the staff, the idyllic setting and the exceptional introduction to the French language and to different cultures that has shaped his professional and personal life. His key values in education are: ensuring young people enjoy their education while discovering their full potential, character education and opening the minds of young people towards cultures and languages other their own. He’s thrilled to contribute what he can to current and future generations of NPS students.
