Welcome to Northbourne Park School

A warm welcome to our website and I hope that it provides just a glimpse of what we achieve at this wonderful prep school. I am very proud of this community, which I believe provides the best start in school life for all of our boys and girls.

The children are very much at the centre of all we do here, and the Northbourne Park experience is a team effort, with the staff, children, parents and governors all working together to provide a stimulating education which is as broad as it is deep and wide.

Outstanding pastoral care ensures that we focus on the individual needs of every child, encouraging them and inspiring them to succeed across a wide range of learning experiences whether in the classroom, in sport, music, drama and leadership or in the wide range of other activities on offer to them at the school.

Our buildings, park and woodland provide wonderful spaces for children to enjoy their educational journey, whether it is in playing in the woods, camping out, following the pioneering ‘Outdoor Leadership’ programme or developing a strong interest in their natural surroundings.

Northbourne Park children are proud to be individuals, they are all different, but are widely recognised as articulate, hard-working, confident, considerate and very much ‘free-range’ in their attitudes; they are able to think laterally to find solutions and have an unusually mature moral compass based in firm spiritual values which are to the benefit of our whole community.

There is so much to say about this community, its boarding, its unique languages programme, music, leadership initiatives and trips and our Independent Schools Inspection (ISI) report in October 2010 summarises our community very well.

This prospectus will give you a strong flavour of Northbourne Park life, but really to understand why the children love it so much please come and find out for yourself what makes this community so very special.

Information Mornings for the School take place on Saturday mornings during term time. The tour, which is with the Headmaster, another member of staff and/or a senior pupil, generally lasts an hour and is preceded by coffee with the Headmaster in his study.

Please contact Jackie Jones, the Headmaster’s P.A. on office@northbournepark.com to arrange an appointment.

Yours sincerely,
