The Pilgrimage

Heads of School, School Captains and School Prefects take part in our annual ‘Pilgrimage Walk’ from School to Canterbury Cathedral. Pupils involved in the walk are also invited to take part in the ‘Evensong Service’ at Canterbury Cathedral.

The School Chaplain starts the proceedings with a blessing at the school chapel, St Mary the Virgin, Betteshanger, before the children commence their 14.7 miles journey. The route follows the original Pilgrimage route visiting 6 local churches on the way.

The Pilgrimage is very much a personal and spiritual journey as well as a trek through the beautiful Kent countryside, providing the children the opportunity to reflect on past years at the school before they depart and plan for next year in their new schools.
