Northbourne Park School hosted the Primary Schools Cross Country Competition before half term. 17 teams from schools took part in the afternoon, making it the biggest event in many years. Each team consisted of six runners, both boys and girls resulting in over 100 children taking part in this year’s competition. The event is a relay with each of the six runners completing a section of the course and handing over a baton to the next runner.

The overall times for the first five teams home were very close, with only 20 seconds separating them. The results were:

1^st Wingham Pimary School

2^nd Kingsdown and Ringworld

3^rd Warden House

4^th Northbourne Park

5^th St Mary’s.

Mr Sides awarded all the runners with certificates of participation and the winners also received medals. They all enjoyed a well deserved tea to round off the afternoon.
