MOLTEN SPONSORS NEW INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS FOOTBALL LEAGUE IN KENT
Molten, the world’s leading manufacturer of footballs, is to sponsor the Molten Golden Ball League (Under 9s and Under 13s), a new football league for independent schools in Kent.
Spearheaded by leading independent preparatory school, Northbourne Park School, the Molten Golden Ball League launches in September 2009.
So far five independent schools in Kent have signed up to take part including Junior Kings School (Canterbury), Kent College Infant and Junior School (Canterbury), Northbourne Park School (Deal), St. Edmund’s School (Canterbury), and Wellesley House School (Broadstairs).
As League sponsor Molten is to provide Molten match balls to each participating school to kick off the new season and the League’s winning team in each age group is to be awarded a voucher worth £300 to buy Molten sports products.
In addition, every month Molten is to present a coveted Molten Golden Football trophy to the team of the month in both age groups.
Comments Edward Balfour, headmaster of Northbourne Park School:
“There was an outstanding need for an organised football league for independent schools in Kent which would give inter-school games a genuinely competitive edge and encourage a keen interest from pupils, teachers and parents.
In view of this I approached Molten to see if they would be interested in becoming involved and they agreed at once.
So far five schools have signed up, but we are expecting more schools in the wider vicinity to participate as the stature of the League grows.”
Comments Bob Hope, chairman of Molten Sports:
“As a Kent-based company Molten was delighted to have been approached by the headmaster of Northbourne Park, Edward Balfour, and asked if we would like to sponsor this new League.
We are enthusiastic about promoting football in Kent and committed to encouraging young people into sport nationwide.
“Indeed. this new League was a logical extension to our sponsorship programme in Kent which includes the Kent Football League, the Molten East Kent Youth Football League, the Kent Youth Football League,
Kent Schools Football Association
and Canterbury City FC.
In addition, Molten is the official match ball supplier for the Easter & Spring Festival of Football which attracts thousands of young players each year as well as several other county football leagues in the UK.”
