| Activities at the Senior School
Children can take part in a number of additional activities to those offered as part of the curriculum and we will organise expert tuition either on the school premises or a short distance away. Activities available include golf tuition (plenty of excellent golf courses close to the school), riding, archery, fencing, pottery, tennis. Ballet and karate lessons are also available for our younger children in our Pre Prep.
From 7 upwards, children benefit from participation in a unique range of outdoor activities for which the Northbourne Park setting is ideal. From building camps to climbing trees, our activities foster leadership, initiative and teamwork. Activities take place every second Saturday morning.
The children love this part of the curriculum particularly when they come to do overnight camp-outs during the summer. Our activities also take the older children further afield. Recent activities range from an overnight walk to Dover, a day trek to Sandwich Bay, climbing Mount Snowdon, and canoeing down the Ardeche river in France.
The spirit of adventure and excitement is at all times matched by the need to keep your children safe and secure. Children are taught the importance of safety at all times.
The leadership training programme at Northbourne Park helps children:
* develop effective leadership skills
* clarify their vision and get their team enthusiastically moving in one direction
* optimise their thinking, strengthen their communication skills, and enhance teamwork
* confront and talk about tough issues and resolve conflict with greater ease
