Pop Star Visits Northbourne Park School!

Charlie Winston  made a special appearance at Northbourne Park School on the evening of Monday 16th May to play a few of the songs from his latest ‘Hobo’ album, released in 2008, and to give the children a lesson in lyric and song writing.

Having played an acoustic version of the lead track ‘Hobo’ on an acoustic guitar, he then spoke about the origins of the song and how he develops a song from a initial idea to the final product. His advice to the children was to follow their hearts and their linguistic and music instincts.

The children finished the hour session by writing their own lyrics and two lucky volunteers were helped by Winston to put them to music. They are not sure if their creations, ‘Marseille’ and ‘The Sky’ will lead them in the footsteps of Charlie to Paris and onto L.A and tours of the U.S. but you never know!

Brit Charlie Winston is number one in the French album charts but remains relatively unknown in his own country. That looks set to change with the release of his album 'Hobo'. The pupils and staff at Northbourne Park wish him all the very best.
