Dover Night Walk Saturday 14th May 2011
At midnight on Saturday 14th May, the House Captains and Heads of School and three senior pupils started their night walk. They followed the Old Roman road that connects Dover Harbour to Richborough Castle in Sandwich during the Roman Empire. It is a straight North-South line cutting across fields, and following public footpaths.
The group arrived at the Harbour at 3.07am and touched the freezing waters of the English Channel before aiming back to school via Dover Castle, East and West Langton. The level of fitness of the party was extremely high and the mental fight against sleep deprivation was second to none. All enjoyed the experience with a record completion of the challenge in 7h10, just in time to play touch rugby on the lawn, wake up and have a good breakfast with the boarders before a well-deserved rest.
Man of the walk: everybody.
