Our midnight walk to Dover and back!

Just before the Spring half term break, the school captains and housecaptains undertook a fantastic 7 1/2 hour walk to Dover and back from school. They were raising money to support their expedition to the Pyrenees mountains in France later this summer. Alice (year 8) tells us about the walk

The Northbourne Park House Captains Midnight Walk.

All 17 of us set off at midnight to start our long and hard walk to Dover and back at midnight.

We all were in high sprits for about the first 1 1/2 hours and then some of us started to get sore joints and feet but together we picked each others sprits up and we were making good time.

We arrived at Dover at around 3:30 we walked a bit further until we came to the sea and sat down and had a well deserved snack and rest.

We set off again and the second half and we were all feeling the pain of walking for such a long, long time. We arrived back at Northbourne and the feeling we all felt was incredible and we will never forget it. We walked for 19.1 miles and 7hours and 32 minutes.
